Pox
  • Third party. The pox is a diseased role. Each night the pox has to choose one person to convert. The chosen person becomes the new pox at the start of the next day and the original pox dies. At any one time there can be only one pox in the village.
  • If the doctor chooses the pox at night, the pox is cured and reverts back to its original role (or blue if it was the first pox). If doctor chooses the person to be converted by pox, the conversion fails and the old pox still dies. The doctor is not immune to conversion himself.
  • All pox players win if a pox survives at the end of the game

There are a lot of disease related conversion roles out there, and this is not one of the better ones. Sadly, -k.

an underpowered cultist. Not necessary.
over 15 years
Thats not necessarily the case. If you start with 2 pox the game will end when there are 4 people left (if we follow the same rule as cult). That means at least 2 people will be left out. It would be the same thing if everyone decided to leave the cultist alone or formed an alliance such that a cult member is killed each night so that everyone can be inducted until the final day. Its possible but people tend not to follow those strategies. However, I understand the point and I suggest as a counterbalance, that the amount of points won be divided among the pox. This way the more pox there are by game end, the less points each get. I think that would discourage the loophole you bring up.

Surely this is just a pointfarm? Say, everyone agrees to leave the pox alone, pox goes through everyone, leaving one pox alive and everyone in the graveyard a pox, if you get me? Everybody wins.

Well the setup could include 2 pox at the start to double the infection rate and give it more power. Also, setups without tracker could be used. If you want to balance things out with tracker though, when the pox dies after conversion it could show up in graveyard as its original role/blue. Tracker would not know if maf killed the person or a pox died.

I think it's interesting, but very underpowered. A tracker report completely ruins the role. And so does a doctor - what chance does it have of avoiding the doc save, tracker/watcher and night kill throughout the whole game? Needs something to give it a chance at success.

I did +, but now I -'d for over advertising. Its good, but not that good bro.

It would be best not to allow people to know they're pox until the following night. Players might grieve knowing when night comes, they'll die, and ruin the game by revealing everything.
over 15 years
Then the pox loses. The new pox has to survive to the next night to be able to convert a new member.

What happens if the person chosen by the Pox at night dies the following day (ex.killed by mafia)?
over 15 years
No, the doctor cannot convert people to pox. he is just able to block pox conversions and reverse pox roles back to what they were.
over 15 years
its an interesting idea, the doctor can choose to convert someone to the pox?

Pox counts as visit. Shrink cannot prevent conversions by pox. Granny would still be infected even though she would kill the pox (it would have died anyways).
over 15 years
Hmm....I like it. It is a third party, but really, it is like a 4th side. Does "poxing" count as visiting? Does shrink prevent it?
+K
