The trick of the setup is to recruit cautiously and lynch sparingly. Rather than eliminating players by lynching, the guess-work done during the day is in the successful recruiting work done by masons, based on cop/tracker reports. The bodyguard helps allow one mason to stay alive as spokesperson, and information flows through the masons' guild. The dual janitor setup allows better role impersonation. Lynchers should choose to try to get recruited by mafia, but the dual lyncher threat means that masons' guesswork is not done on one successful convert.
