As a note, I am disappointed by the frequency of players who become vegetables or suicide as Pathologists and/or Morticians. They play a crucial role in this setup.
- The Watcher
The Watcher is an investigative of the living. He can find out the actions of Journalist, Informant and the Mafia member who chose to kill at any given night. However, his investigations may be seriously interfered with by the Driver, as the Watcher cannot notice Driver shenanigans.
- The Journalist
The Journalist is the secondary investigative of the living. Her range of investigation encompasses the Watcher, Mortician, Pathologist, Informant and the Driver, yet only obtains what the target has investigated or has done that night. However, the Journalist is contested by the Informant, who is identical in function.
- The Mortician
The Mortician is the Detective of the dead. He can help catch Mafia members who lie based on the No Reveal nature of this setup, as a result of his fool-proof utility.
- The Pathologist
The Pathologist is the Journalist of the dead. He can retrieve useful information from investigatives who have died, and also functions as a secondary Mortician.
- The Monk
The Monk's role is to save someone from dying, twice. He is a wild card that can buy the village more time or save a Mafioso from getting lynched.
- The Informant
The Informant is the Mafia version of the Journalist. He is gifted with the ability to masquerade as the Journalist extremely effectively, because he is, for all intents and purposes, functionally the same. Were he to die, the Pathologist can turn the knowledge he has acquired against the remaining Mafia.
- The Driver
The Driver is there to muddle up the investigations of Watcher and Journalist. Information may still be there for the taking, but may be attributed to the wrong people. The Driver is also not noticeable by the Watcher. The Driver may interfere with the Informant; however, such interference may be resolved by discussion in the Mafia meeting.
