That is a sound strategy if the maf players are stupid; however, if I were maf and town used that strategy, here's what I'd do: if we killed the watcher n1, one of us would claim it anyways, as the mort would be considered our cc. If a blue or amn died first, then we'd leave the mortician alive and let the town suspect him (especially if we stalked the watcher n1). If the mort dies n1, well, your strategy really backfires.
