it looks like i am officially a mentor

looking for mafia players who want to improve on their competitive game.

only those who want advanced mentorship i am not here to teach you how to play the basics

pls just post here if you want some mentorship

Here is a syllabus for prospective mentees / those who want to improve on their mafia/town game.

Advanced Mafia Training Semester 1

Admission Requirements:

Basic knowledge on how to play mafia
A working background on all the roles used in competitive
Some experience in competitive play
Full knowledge on mafia terminology
Basic knowledge on the psychological aspects of playing mafia

Course workload:

Completion of the following games whilst under mentorship:

20 games of Jan 2.0
10 games of TEO/DEO
10 games of GAI
5 games of Competitive Baker
10 games of PAU
10 games of traitor training 3
20 games of A&D variants (NOT A&D)
5 games DLYV/DLYG
10 games VDLI
10 games BV
10 game BL
10 games B2NS
10 games Andrea
30 games LOBL or any of its variants
10 games STBS
10 games of a main setup (non FP/Classic, to be completed after all other games are completed)
10 games of a setup the mentee has designed for competitive use

By completion of mentorship one should be able to:

Not suck at mafia
Win a trophy

Why can't we make the default setup people learn on actual good setups?

The only reason people complain on removing red heart FP/Classic is because those were the setups they learned and were taught to mafia in.

A new player joining the site would be none the wiser and would learn to play well.

i.e.: I learned to play well because I was a **** player who tried comp games with people better than me and because Training did not intellectually challenge me.

If we raised the bar on all new players would this not better remedy the falling standard of players?

Actually people get better by playing with people better than them, and considering the natural way this sites going the average high skill level on the site is slowly falling, people are constantly having less good players to learn off. Which only perpetuates the falling of skill level.
