sorry lawliet, i dont mean to hate too hard on seraph. it was still a great show. honestly, in retrospect, even though the last 2 episodes were all over the place, i was still extremely entertained. i rescind my 7/10; it's an 8/10 at the end but 9/10 for most of it.
really fun to watch, just sad that they couldnt finish what they started
haha wow, seraph of the end went full aldnoah zero on the final couple of episodes. plot twists made zero sense, complete mess of the character dvlpmt after such good work prior..
i dont know what to say. on the one hand, it was a fun ride. most of the show was realistic, human, and dare i say comprehensible. but then you have the glaring plotholes and the delaying of answering any of those major questions raised throughout the show.
the visuals, sound (music was especially poignant and quite diverse), and overall concept and character design really save the show. there are a lot of slip-ups in logic here and there, but the story itself is interesting, even when the characters are fumbling about in a non-coherent plot event. the dub is fantastic, also, and the characters are always fun to listen to.
still, do great visuals make up for "2nd trumpet" and "king of salt" as the only real explanations into just wtf was going on? lmao, i think not. clearly another case where they just make it up as they go, and apparently this is especially due to season 2 not following the manga and creating the scenarios after where the adaptation ends, since that part of the story isnt written/drawn yet in manga.
soul eater, anyone? it's like the show has everything right, then manages to completely go bonkers, because they have to fill that episode count on their contract, even if the story's not finished yet.
so basically, seraph of the end is really, really good... until it ends horribly, and frankly the damage seems irreparable. they may continue with a 3rd season, but that ending has basically destroyed the story completely. it would be like continuing aldnoah zero past a first season... ahah, oh wait.
9/10 prior to last 2 or so episodes; after that, 7/10
It's kinda funny how sports anime are so rarely mentioned on this thread. I mean, its a pretty big genre in the anime industry. I expected a lot of people to watch Kuroko no Basket, Free, Haikyuu and Prince of Stride and whatnot. :D
It will be coming out for PC though. They just haven't announced it yet. Considering there's been a lot of FF games being released for PC in the recent years, it's only a matter of time.
At least it introduced some interesting characters... maybe? I'll watch another couple episodes before dropping it, myself.
The atmosphere and cinematography also helped. Rather than "slow" I'd probably describe it as "not covering enough in one episode." It didn't really seem to go anywhere much, even though I kept expecting it to.
(Get it? "Didn't go anywhere"? ...No one? Okay.)
