Rutab you should actually read the platforms of the candidates you criticize. Bernie has not proposed a tax increase on anyone making less than 300,000 dollars per year.
Rebuild the middle class? With the amount of taxes that he'll be issuing for ALL of his programs? yeah right dude hahahaha

Will Bernie Sanders win the presidency? Hell no, Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election in 2008. But Bernie would be a wonderful president, and his ideas (as I'm sure your economics professor will explain to you) are economically implementable, without a doubt.
Fully Paid for by Imposing a Robin Hood Tax on Wall Street. This legislation is offset by imposing a Wall Street speculation fee on investment houses, hedge funds, and other speculators of 0.5% on stock trades (50 cents for every $100 worth of stock), a 0.1% fee on bonds, and a 0.005% fee on derivatives. It has been estimated that this provision could raise hundreds of billions a year which could be used not only to make tuition free at public colleges and universities in this country, it could also be used to create millions of jobs and rebuild the middle class of this country.
Shall we continue? I have an answer to every perceived problem you have with his economics :)

He probably has had the same views for 40 years, but too bad they're wrong lol
Okay, what about his views are wrong? Because if its economics, I'll school you. If it's a moral thing, I disagree with your morality.
It is most definitely his economics. How do you expect his tax plans to pay for everything? How won't the people run out of money?
the point, germ, is that the republicans back plans that dont work in the LR for the US economy, and the dems typically do. the repubs are short-sighted and want immediate gains (esp. in their pocket) for/from their corporate backers. the dems are more conniving and a little more backdoor-y. they know how to conceal their bs. the repubs dont, and their morals dont make sense in the modern world.
the fact that you're okay with that is why id rather you not be in my country anymore, even if you're an independent. you're literally just hindering our country as a whole at this point, esp if you dont vote.

Bernie Sanders would be a wonderful president, Rutab. He has held the same views for 40 years, unlike any other US presidential candidate ever. And contrary to popular belief, his ideas are economically sound.
He won't win, but he'd be the best president by far, and I'd be happy to school you :)
The problem with Bernie, though, is that he doesn't have the personality to make the majority of his plan a reality, so I don't see very much change coming from him despite what he promises.

Connor, the whole reason people are even remotely supporting the idiots that are Trump and Sanders is because they want someone different than the normal corruption that they all share. Trump is definitely not supported by the establishment and neither is Bernie. Whichever one (might) get elected will change the country a great deal, whether it's right or left.

on the one hand, congressperson elections are probably the most centrally corrupted wrt to money and status in the american political system
on the other, voter turnout rates for senate elections are pitiful
