can someone tell me why he's wrong? why do we even have nukes if we'll never use them? clearly we have them because there are situations in which we'll use them, so why is trump being called an idiot because he doesn't make absolute answers to nuanced questions?

i mean he is an idiot but in this case, im so sick of people and their moral high horses tugging on first reaction instead of thinking for five seconds

If you haven't noticed, Trump gets flak for everything. The media is owned by the same people who would benefit from a Clinton presidency. He'll get attacked for every thing he says, while Hillary can be implicated in everything from donor fraud to treason and the media acts like its not a big deal. You won't really get an answer you like because the media isn't exactly objective.

Nukes probably won't actually be used, but its a nice scare tactic to attempt to deter terrorists. I think it's also a sort of negotiation tactic, but people don't want to accept that idea. "We'll ban all muslims from entering the US" makes "We'll limit immigration from ISIS influenced areas" seem a lot more reasonable. I'm sure its the same here. Americans don't want to send ground troops to the middle east, but they'd much rather do that then do the super radical idea of just dropping nukes. Trump says radical because negotiations are easier when the other person thinks you are much further away from them on the issue than you really are.
