wth is with the poll? stop parroting reddit and the media who is vigorously trying to discredit her (and giving her no positive exposure) and actually do some investigative research yourself.

Jill Stein is a visionary, she is sweet, morally correct and intelligent.

Hillary Clinton #ImWithHer? No. #ImWithTheOtherHer

No one is going to influence anyone here on election day.

sad but true. The best we can do today is reach a mutual understanding with each other and rebuild some of the trust that's been lost over the past year.

Mudslinging, name calling and blanket statements aren't going to help, and all sides partake in those way too much.

yeah, and I'll admit that I'm definitely guilty of using these things myself-- I signed a petition saying one of the candidates was an idiot, after all.

he wants to make marriage equality bannable

It's an over-exaggeration, but there is a small grain of truth in it. Trump was asked if he would pick a judge that'd overturn the ruling to the case that made gay marriage legal nationwide, and he said he'd "consider it". I personally consider this a non-answer. He could follow through on it, he might not.

Anyway, if he really does pick an "originalist" judge that overturns the ruling, that'd basically return the legality of gay marriage back over to the states, but wouldn't ban it outright. This definitely isn't something I want to happen, but it isn't an uncommon sentiment among even gay-friendly people on the right-- many people feel that Obegerfell vs. Hodges is an example of federal over-reach and that social issues should be left out of the Supreme Court altogether. I don't agree with that stance, but you don't necessarily have to be a homophobe to have it.

But seriously, no one needs to remind me about Trump's LGBT stances-- I said what I said because I'm already painfully aware of all this stuff; FADA, Pence, the Court, all of it. I could probably rant about it for hours. HeII, I almost did type up a rant a few days ago when Chef posted that rally pic of his, complete with 10+ sources. I agree that you shouldn't vote for Trump if you really care about LGBT rights, but I won't judge other people for having other priorities-- there's a lot to consider this year, and I'm not going to pretend that it's an easy choice to make.

More importantly, I'm absolutely sick of all this nasty divisive rhetoric and I don't come on EpicMafia so I can read it. I don't believe a single person in that poll voting for Trump truly "hates" gays except maybe Jamal, I can't tell if he's joking or not. The last thing we need is more reasons to attack each other.

Here's my stance: My main concern with Trump on LGBT issues is that while he might not personally push to limit gay rights, he hasn't convinced me that he'll stand up to the social conservatives in his own party. Personal opinion aside, he still has a base to respond to and a Congress to work with, and neither of them have shown much sign of holding back on these issues.

-What are the actual statistics of illegal immigrants making a negative impact on our economy?
-How will we deport them all?
-How will we deport them all without creating any discrimination to Latino people who are here legally as American citizens?
-How will we build a wall on such a large border?
-How will we MAKE Mexico pay for it?
-How will we afford the wall if Mexico won't pay for it, which they won't?
-Will this stop illegal immigration for good?

We should be making work visas and green cards far more easily accessible, if the process wasn't so rough I'm sure more people would willingly come over the legal way.

Edit: Saw your temp visas part, I'm just saying the process to become a citizen here is tough and rigorous, I feel sympathy to those who came here illegally because of the unfair system.

No, most illegal immigrants come from people with temporary visas who stay.

Filing for bankruptcy is actually a good business strategy in certain situations. If you think it actually meant he was bankrupt then *sensible chuckle*

And you are referring to the deportation of illegal immigrants? Yes, that would be part of it. Also something Bill Clinton strongly pushed for in his campaign and something hillary Clinton has voted in favor of many times-including a wall.

political platform and personal opinion goes hand in hand but may not necessarily be the same, for example Evan McMullen said he does not agree with gay marriage but understands it or doesn't feel they should fight against it(forgot the exact quote). It is a bit late to try to sway you from voting for Trump yes but please understand that by not giving a clear answer he keeps potential LGBT voters that don't see anything wrong with his platform. He's shown prejudice to all sorts of different groups yet he doesn't go out for them openly because they still may vote for him out of disdain for Hillary or stop being fence sitters.

In my eyes a political platform is what you actually plan on doing rather than what you like to see happen.

just because he wouldn't "push for" his opinion doesn't mean it's not part of his platform? how could you come to the conclusion that platform and opinion aren't synonymous from that answer
deletedover 8 years
In class right now so I'm gonna make this short for now- watch him in interviews and watch for the differences in how he acts when asked about social issues vs economic issues. Economic issues he is firm on his stance and how he will solve issues while social issues he will give his opinion on but when asked how he would "solve" them he is much more hesitant and hasn't said anything other than he would try to appoint more republicans into power.

Trump finds issues of national security and economics more important and I share that view. Him caring about these more mean these are what he will actually push for as president and I'm sure he is aware, like all of you should be, that regardless of the opinion of the President it is very hard to change things as President. If it wasn't then Obama would have legalized gay marriage as soon as he was elected. Trump would have to fight Congress a long time for something that is quite obvious would never happen and so I don't believe he would actually push for illegalizing gay marriage.

Hi I'm gay and today Donald Trump received my vote. This is because I pay enough attention to an election to realize that personal opinion =/= political platform

a politicians opinion is their platform.............

whether any politician enacts legislation on a particular part of their platform is a different issue but like. how can you say that trumps opinions are not his platform. that makes zero sense.

I know you probably didn't vote Trump because you're gay, but for other reasons, but please know that these are two very conflicting candidates, especially with their VPs behind them.

I use words like feel and seems because he's a man who throws around word salads and switches opinions enough that everything is just one giant blur and saying exactly what he'll do is a mess, but there's definitely a big picture forming here
