It is impossible to objectivly tell if someone was the smartest man alive. Also in which way was he smart? He did nothing except for starting a war which killed millions of people and starting a genocide for no reason whatsoever. All the things he maybe did right are not necessarily only possible under Fascism. Economically he basically was a capitalist the only reason he nationalized trusts was to secure his position and preparing for war.

that isn't any economic ingenuity. the Germans worked really hard in wwii because they were really mad at the world regardless of your edge god screaming at them. they did the same stuff in world war 1. the difference he's remembered for is massacring civilians. you don't idolize wilhelm ii because it wouldn't make your parents as mad
no, im saying that the fact that he got a country in a tonne of debt and economically in the dumps to build an army and take over most of europe in a matter of years is a really great feat of strength and intelligence.
