I need something to do so I'm going to make a bot named Jinkies and post about it here.

Features

Shekels: Curry favor with shekels awarded for various things like trivia or winning minigames. Saved across games.
Items: Buy items with various little perks.

Actions

Jinkies basically copies the emjack bot code so the format is @Jink do something. You can whisper them too.

say ... | make the bot talk (2S)
vote [name] | make the bot vote (4S)
kill [name] | make the bot knife or shoot someone (8S, misses rarely)
claim | make the bot whisper its role for (16S, lies rarely)
who ... | says a random player name
shekels | count your shekels (randomly displays top 3)
trivia | play trivia for shekels
lottery NOT IMPLEMENTED | draw a ticket (2S), winner selected the next day
cards NOT IMPLEMENTED | join a card game with someone
shop | displays the item shop (randomly displays top 3)
buy [item] | buy something from the item shop
gift [item] to [name] NOT IMPLEMENTED | gift an item to someone and sends them a cute pm card
bug [text] | report a bug to me
suggest [text] | send a suggestion to me

Shop

You can get items from the item shop that have little value but cost shekels anyway.

Bread (8S): You won't starve.
Rope (16S): Jinkies will lynch you for free.
Collar (32S): Cute flavor text when Jinkies mentions you.
Crystal (128S): Jinkies will claim for half the cost.
Magnet (64S): Jinkies is likely to give you items.
Knife (48S): Jinkies will knife people for free.
Vest (48S): Jinkies will avoid harming you.
Gun (64S): Jinkies will do harm to people for half as much.
Key (128S): You can vote twice in the lottery.
Lovenote (256S): Jinkies will love you forever and send you a friend request.

Scooby Doo was a really cool show. Velma was my favorite character, I loved when she said "Jinkies!" She's such a cutie.

i was about to start a new project anyway, i planned to leave this running on my server so people have more things to do on epicmafia but i'm told by people who hate things that don't affect them that bots are killing em worse than kicking and lynching future players so whatever thank those loser killjoy stick-in-the-muds if you liked jink

im going to stop hosting it, not because it negatively affects the site in any observable way but because the oblivious morons who think it does will negatively affect the site if it exists

the general chat one only happens 20% of the time and a space would invalidate "who's" (or "whos" for lazy people)

it's only the only game if nobody else makes a game, and if nobody is making games then there would be 0 games so that doesn't sound like a great alternative

and if that's what people want to do, that's their prerogative. people will gravitate towards whatever interests them most and i think having things more people are interested in is a positive overall

It would be okay if it only ran during peak hours when theres other games available. But running it constantly, it's often the only game available and I at least don't enjoy playing the games that just turn into everybody asking the bot for trivia and type things.

It's just my opinion on the matter of course.

it makes its own games, so you can join or host another game without worrying about a bot scuffing it up

but you also have the choice of another game that's still mafia, but with extra features and attractions to mix things up from time to time

i think that improves sandbox because it gives a wider range of people reason to play and sandbox ultimately becomes more alive

obviously if there were just a bunch of player bots that just poorly simulated mafia gameplay and didn't add anything new or interesting that would create the impression that the site is empty, but a bot that only plays its own games and exists foremost to add content to the site is really just adding things for players to enjoy

it's almost like if mafia was actually updated, except real and not just a fairy tale people tell themselves to pretend lucid cares
