  • 1. Initially appears to self as blue.
  • 2. If lynched by town, is excluded from interactions with graveyard and does not spectate night meetings. Comes back to life the following day, appearing to town and self as the Messiah.
  • 3. When lynched for the first time, appears as blue in the graveyard. Otherwise, appears as Messiah in the graveyard.
  • 4. Sided with the town.

  • To avoid being linked to religion, I would propose renaming the role to something along the lines of "Redeemer".

  • I think this role would give games an interesting dynamic, interesting because it could create a false LYLO situation, where the town miss-lynches the messiah but gets a second chance. Of course if the messiah is killed by the mafia or a third-party killing role, that second chance is no longer accessible.

Just a comment, lucid has refrained from making any religion-based roles in the past, even changing the host role's name from 'God' to 'Host' to avoid risking offending people. Doesn't seem like a bad idea other than that though.

I thought that would be overkill, which is why I had him be excluded from viewing night meetings while dead. The point is that the Messiah is lynched, making mafia think they've won, but then the Messiah rises from the dead to give town another chance.

Fixed role so that in the graveyard the messiah appears blue when lynched by town and then comes back as the messiah. But if the messiah is otherwise killed he stays dead and appears as the messiah.

Maybe it could apply if maf or third party kill the messiah too? That way the messiah wouldn't have to necessarily claim.
