This is a good idea because it discourages the town from massclaiming, but it makes winning as the News Reporter very, very difficult. It would need to be re-tooled in order to be balanced.

Don't like it; it's so luck based! It has to be alive to win, so it will have about two attempts on average to solve the game completely! O.o

I like this but it'd have to be a one time use role (one guess) and I don't think this person winning should end the game.. it'd be kinda annoying

Make it that he then has to win with town (as in, if he doesn't get the roles right and town wins, he won't get the W).

Like a "town-activating" type of role.

That makes it a good role in no reveal setups too. say there are 6/7 players left at night. news reporter can claim saying that they couldn't report that night, therefore multiple people are the same role.

good role, also, news reporter can only guess if there are 5 or more different roles to guess still alive

I think they should only be allowed one guess, ever, for all the roles. Otherwise they'd be basically guaranteed to win by n3.
