Where is everyone in the game so far? We should all battle once we have maxed out teams. I'll play the english one for you guys, eventually.. once I can get a anti-localization patch probably..
I don't really like the Hoshido mages. I mean animal gods? It's kind of boring. I prefer the usual fire and lightning attacks. You know, elements. MAGIC! Not summoning an animal to run into the enemy.. =.=
I think it's pretty lame that they took out durability but I guess it's FINE. I just like having more things to manage and worry about. It's useless for buyable weapons other than money, but I liked it a lot for super powerful and special weapons. It made me think about when I actually wanted to use them.
This game is pretty solid. I mean there are some silly moments and some chapters that you can bipass entirely with the right skills. But overall it's pretty balanced. Although in about chapter 7 or something, in hoshido. I just put only me and a pegasus knight. I hopped on the pegasus, and flew to the end of the level skipping all the intricate details they had laid out for my party to surpass. Felt slightly bad, but at the same time not really.
The ideal route would be Hoshido --> Nohr --> IK however, i hate playing easy --> hard --> medium. So that's why I chose Hoshido(hard) --> Nohr(hard) --> IK(Lunatic) --> Nohr (Lunatic) so that I can finish with a pretty hard nohr run for some serious gg's. If it turns out we have a lunatic + i'll do that for my final Nohr run, but I haven't seen anything of it yet.
The rebalances to the pair up system are golden. I absolutely love them. Now I don't feel like an for being the only one to pair up (as opposed to enemies doing it) and I really love the predictability they added. It's a strategy game, not a guessing game. I can tell when my partners will protect, and when they will strike. But they still get a chance of missing/critical like normal attacks. SWEET!
I kind of wish all 3 paths were treated pretty equally, but it's whatever. I'll just play all 3 and feel happy regardless.
The english version of this game is relatively atrocious. I mean it's pretty fun overall. But they removed WAIFU TOUCHING SMH, I actually enjoy petting my waifu in the japanese game. It's really silly, but at the same time it's so silly that you may as well not remove it. I mean rubbing her arm as she says 'I love you..' or something similar felt nice. I guess i'm just a weeb though.
However, on a more serious note. They even changed characters! And removed dialogue! They took away about 1500 lines of dialogue for the sake of removing waifu stuff. They also took a character who is supposed to be a gentle giant and turned her into sully 2.0 which was incredibly disappointing.
For this reason, i'm doing all 3 paths once in the japanese game with english translation, then doing Nohr again one final time on lunatic + in the english one. I won't need waifu stuff that time, since i'll be plowing through the story and focusing on the more difficult strategic battles.
staves and items still have limited uses but yeah they took out durability. i dunno if having it wouldve changed the game but i bet they did it just so conquest people wouldnt be spending all their money on iron swords
if you enjoyed the old fire emblem games, i'd take a look into conquest. yeah they gave you the option to make things a lot easier, but conquest experienced is actually pretty in line with the older FE games where you will get 2 shot by npcs. the whole weapon durability thing can't be changed i believe.. but f it, theres not a whole lot of strategy games coming out anymore
(i wish we would get an ACTUAL front mission or something)
there's a lot of strategy, imo it's harder than awakening was and i was a noob to that (at least conquest is, i don't have birthright). in awakening it was easy to just grind and being in pairs was really overpowering. i guess you can grind in birthright but conquest is a lot trickier and getting through each map has seemed to taken a lot more precision and thought.
maybe it's just me but weapons constantly breaking/running out was an annoying tedium to me. and reclassing to a same-level class now doesn't reset you to level 1 which i thought was cool too frankly. not getting the hate!

god i've heard literally no good things about this game at all
i'm playing conquest and i think it's a lot better than awakening, both gameplay and story wise. i've only played awakening other than fates but i mean i think the new games really seem great. the fact there's no weapon durability (besides staves) alone makes it like 100 times better, and yet it's still more challenging (probably because pair ups aren't nearly as broken). plus there's more interesting maps and the castle thing is slightly fun.
