I'm introducing a new variant of mafia. It's called Pranay Mafia. The entire game, start to finish, happens in only one day, with no night phases.
Here's how it works:
Instead of lynching, each town sided player has one chance to guess who all of the mafia are. If they are off by even one person, they die. If they are right, town wins. As usual, once the mafia overtakes the town, they win.
In addition, many players will get power roles. I will list all possible power roles below. All powers will happen during the day. It is possible to have more than one power role.
Slight variants of this format are also accepted. The town will know at the start of the game how many mafia there are in the game.
Game starts in 24 hours from the time I post this thread. Signup if you want to play.
Update: There will be a time limiting factor that slowly tilts the game in the mafia's favor if the town fails to act for a long period of time. I will announce what this is once it is triggered. Hopefully we won't need it.
I'm going to do a bit more analyzing, statistically what the best way to use roles are.
Bullet proof should out immediately now that yoyo is dead.
Gunsmith can abuse the system to become clear super simply, all he has to do is send the gun, and say that he sent the gun, and when the BP sees that he recieves a gun the gs is confirmed..
If there are two gs don't be an idiot and double gun.
Mastermind needs to use the power, generally in the way I intended after the bp outs.
There are not as many town roles as there are town, meaning that there are likely duplicates, the most powerful roles 'mastermind' 'cop' likely don't have duplicates, while roles like 'flasher' and 'professor' may not.
In the priest power role it revives someone to make them blue, meaning that the professor can be revived to see what happens.
The witch is completely useless and no one can tell me otherwise.
Bullet proof is arguably the most important role. Since it means that the gunsmith guns that person, creating 'armed and vested'

anyway i was looking at the role list and decide to do some logical reasoning. 5 mafias. 5 possible mafia roles. why in the heck would arcbell draw up a random possible power role? just to throw town off? no, therefore id like to say theres one of each mafia power role, and if that changes things then nice.
then, theres 12 town roles. i guess theres vanilla towns (?), so i cant say as much on this topic i guess. some of them must not be included if its arguably like a regular, balanced forum mafia.
The mastermind role says exactly this - Town Mastermind: When the mastermind guesses wrong, the town gets to see how many mafia were in the mastermind's guess.
meaning the mastermind could guess up to as many people as they wanted.
So you want to try to guess large and split the town to see where the mafia are.
From what I can tell, with the mastermind, it would be optimal for them to guess say half the town. If only one mafia is in that guess, try to find that one mafia, and then everyone else in that half is clear. Basically split the town in two and see where the mafia are.
