I actually find this election to be of the kind that isn't very common

It isn't really a policy vs. policy election anymore

People are predominantly voting based on personality and character over anything of what they say. I believe this applies more for Hilary's (ex)voters

they're both terrible and shouldn't be the two main contenders

Our political system allows only for 1 on 1 voting (repub v demo) and anyone else has no chance

which is why i havent bothered to look into Gary Johnson, since a vote for Johnson is a vote for Hilary at this point

i sincerely hope and kind of believe this election will spur a rise in third party popularity. the two party system has ruined american politics for me.

also it's funny, i've heard dems say that a vote for gary johnson is a vote for trump

I honestly think she has some sort of mental issue. I find it absurd that she can be so sure of her false justifications.

Annajane I hope you're well

We left off on a good note and we usually always have been on one

Sadly I know nothing of you recently so I'm afraid this is a rather bare opinion

honestly I tend to lean a bit more conservative politically but despite that I can't honestly wholeheartedly say that Trump being president would be what America needs. It's not even a matter of legislature or policy, it's his constant negative effects on the social problems already existent within America. I don't believe that the Donald, who if he were to be the President would essentially become the face of this country and a defining part of its society, would have a positive impact on a variety of different social issues.

I understand your sentiment in that it's good for the democratic party, but then you have to take into account that she has lied about ever holding a different view about anything, so it completely invalidates what you're saying.

I doubt she actually said she's never changed her view on anything

Did you know the all-inclusive and nonracist Democratic head officials in their emails released by Wikileaks called the Latino voter initiative "Taco Bowl Engagement" and even Indians "Dot Heads?"

republicans do that openly though

This isn't a serious post I'd hope

Paraphrasing the FBI Director:

"If this were the case for anyone else we would press charges"

Then why not press charges?

"Not enough evidence"

Trump will be a failed President if he doesn't have allies in the Republican party. So it's fair to say that Trump is more likely to nominate conservative justices (least he lose the support of conservatives in Congress). It's also fair to say he'll be pressured to be tough, and be very Republican like when it comes to foreign policy. All the people who think Trump will basically be a liberal when he's President are naive. If that happened, a very Republican Congress would shut him down and make sure he could get nothing done.

As for Hillary, I assume Hillary will stick to doing what Obama has been doing at worst. Considering Obama has 70 plus percent approval with Democrats, she can't afford not to be a continue his administration in many ways.

Either way, I rather have split government than give the GOP control of everything.

30 years of a conservative Supreme Court, and 8 years of the GOP controlling everything are what happens in 2016 if the GOP win. No thank you.

well i think we're both speaking truths. she has absolutely lied about her stances on issues, for example she blatantly lied to terry gross on npr that she was against same-sex marriage when numerous pre 2013 interviews show she was. but i was more referring to her adopting some of bernie's policies on the platform this year, which pushes her more left and is also good for the party because, for the rational sanders supporter, even if you don't like hillary a lot of what she will be saying come november are things bernie sanders pushed for first

She literally has. Her words were essentially to the effect of, 'I have never expressed a different opinion [surrounding the topic].'
