Edark at first for a long time (years ago) I didn't like you because I grouped you with the @$$holes of the site. At the time, I thought of your "group" to be like that because that's just what I observed. Obviously over time that opinion changed and I think you're one of the coolest and most level-headed people on the website. Sometimes though I have a feeling you don't think you're as smart or cool as you actually are, but I'm sure that'll change as you continue as admin and have a more lingering presence on site issues.

mindful's view of things seems about most sensible btw, although i don't really have any clue of some of the things she refers to. but looking at it as a whole, like, these two as fitting into the system, rather than taking them for vessels of profound change. trump is all a dumb fervour about him because he's talking like your workmate at lunch, and same with hillary, she isn't some ISIS operative going to take the whitehouse

And I know no one is going to bother reading yet another Tatami wall, but for the people who think that somehow think Hillary doesn't have the skill to be President:
1) She served as First Lady for 8 years (under one of the most highly lauded Presidents in the last 100 years) 2) She served in the Senate for 8 years. 3) Her Secretary of State tenure was more than Benghazi (Still not her fault) and emails: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Clinton%27s_tenure_as_Secretary_of_State
And if you can't even be bothered to skim that Wikipedia link, but still claim that she can't handle foreign policy or did a poor job, the problem is not with Hillary Clinton but with you. She is a strong candidate for most qualified President ever, and experience is not the negative a lot of you seem to be viewing it as.
I could make bolder claims, going more into deprh on her competency, mounting a defense (or offense against Trump) for the old establishment cry, or claiming that a lot of these critiques simply wouldn't exist were she male, but I'll hold off on those here and just cover the basics, because I'm skeptical of whether or not people will read even that much.
Even worse, tell me how Trump plans to handle racial tension. How is he going to prevent more Dallas shootings? Candidate solutions are the same as above. Some of you may not buy into the BLM movement, but ask yourself how Trump plans to protect police lives-the answer lies in caring less about the lives of black people. You can imagine how eager black leaders will be to negotiate with Donald Trump, paragon of unity and ultimate facilitator of emotional healing.
People quote Hillary's character issues and political flopping. I won't touch the flopping despite it simply being the name of the game, I will say that Trump has flopped similarly in his time (and once called Clinton his favorite president). I will say that none of Hillary's character issues touch Trump's level. His comments on Hispanics are no joke. His history of misogynist comments are no joke. His attitude towards others is no joke.
The man is racist. The man is misogynist. The man is a liar. The man holds disastrous, racist ideas. The man is poorly equipped to handle foreign policy and does not understand it at the most basic level. The man cannot even handle a country economically despite being in business his entire life.
Some of the political views expressed here are very puzzling to me. They give the impression of enlightenment, of seeing the true candidate and their policies, and of seeing through the media's haze. Yet, some of the views make very little sense and leave me wondering how many people have bothered to look at the platforms.
Trump's economic views are more often than not mercantilistic (even moreso than Hillary and the Democrats, who have a strong voter base in labor unions). His plan for making Mexico build the wall is a joke, and a scary one. I'm not just saying that-go read the plan published on his website. People have said he's the only one who won't capitulate in foreign policy to Russia, but he has already explicitly given up Ukraine in his platform. Further, he has expressed opposition to NATO, the cornerstone of European security from Russia for decades, and has entirely missed the IR theory working underneath the organization. One can only imagine how eager to negotiate with a Trump presidency countries in Latin America and Central Asia will be.
People think he is best equipped to "keep the country safe". They do not realize his promise is a lie. How is he going to protect events like the Orlando shooting? Most recent terror attacks are homegrown-so don't say blocking refugees. Of all solutions, police-state level racial profiling and gun control measures are the most viable. He is not in favor of the latter, and has verbally endorsed the former on numerous occasions.
