i think procgen is a lot of effort for something overdone that cant compare to handcrafted worlds
the whole point of procgen is to make the game feel fresh longer but ironically the lack of notable level features just makes it go stale faster, and people try to remedy this with prefabs but those are mostly handcrafted so you run out of those too
i think some simple online rpg like runscape but 2d might be chill
cant go wrong with rogue like platformers or twinstick shooters. Procedually generated dungeon crawler could be cool. A top down game where ya search a dungeon/temple could turn out nice If all fails just make an Undertale clone
It depends on the mood. One day I'll feel like playing Final Fantasy VI or Super Metroid, and the next day I'll probably wanna play Resident Evil 4 or Mass Effect 2.
im trying to find a new game to make because making something original is too hard

I could take any of those options if it's what I'm in the mood for
But with 3D games I usually only want the top tier products(rated the best), while 2D/2.5D stuff I don't mind if it's an average game as I can enjoy them more then average 3D games
