the concept of banning

you know whats a cool thing to think about

everymod's favorite hobby, banning people

so here's the paradox: you ban people so that they can't cause trouble, correct? so, they come back on an alt and don't cause any trouble, but you discover that they're a "banned user," so you ban them again. but wait, why ban them if they aren't causing trouble? and why are they even a "banner user" if they aren't causing trouble?

i think that permanent and even simply long bans are illogical because at some point in a ban someone will inevitably reach a point where they stop bothering to cause trouble. otherwise they could just use vpns forever. really, banning serves only to inconvenience people who are least dedicated to causing trouble and challenge (unsuccessfully) those who aren't

so we should abolish banning users for longer than a month and exterminate the concept of a "banned user" which is redundant considering once an alt starts causing trouble you can ban them on that premise anyway so why does it matter

Anyone can appear "smart" online with proper grammar, punctuation, and a lack of filler words. Yet, you/we are still all nobodies in the end and nothing is ever learned, what is the point of it? Is this "arguing" some self-stroking ego thing to make you feel superior over others? At least that's what it usually appears like when I read a lot of these "arguments".

That euphoric high of yelling louder than another online and pseudo feeling of achievement must last short if these threads are so common.

I talked with a person once that works on building a new capital in Africa in one of those countries. He told me basically that the people that live in the villages and teach them how to use chainsaws and machines. They force them to do things they never done before, and the death rate is high.

And those things. The constant punishments , are everyday thing. The people enjoy it and they support it, because this is how they always lived.
