another interesting proponent is how the fact that it's only "post"-apocolyptic works; i.e. how we as a society can not immediately conceive of the tragedy that causes the tragedy, but only of treating it as an abstract in order to create scenarios of interest. this would reflect our inability and or perhaps apathy of millenials towards solving the immediate problem and instead, simply waiting for the "fall".

i think it'd be interesting to see how you could evaluate it in the capitalistic ideology, maybe picking out individual scenarios and deconstructing the plot in a means of finding out what 'fear' created it. i.e. hunger games being some sort of fear of specialization and direct exploitation of the poor by an plutocracy (i don't remember i haven't read it since freshman year of HS).
