I'm guessing the game was refunded for whatever reason. There may have been someone who gamethrew, trolled, insufficient participation, etc... and it was reported and points were refunded for those games. So next time make note of the points you're at and how many hearts you have. If you see a decrease in points, look to see if your hearts have increased.
