Why you shouldn't vote for HRC

deletedover 8 years

Ok so a lot of people are voting for HRC for a few main reasons: (1) She's not Trump (2) She will enact Liberal policies/ put in Liberal Justices (3) Global Warming/ The environment is an important issue RN (4) Female President (5) Most experience

Here's my responses: (1) OK so I'm not a Trump supporter/fan by any means. BUT people seem to ignore a lot of the shady/ messed up that she's been caught in. Her emails (Yes they are a big deal, people have gone to jail for way less), taking money from corporate interest groups (more on this later), working with the DNC/ DWS to make her the nominee (leaked emails shows voter suppression and the DNC pitching anti-Bernie Sanders stories to the media). She may not be Trump but I'd argue that she's really just as bad.

(2)/(3) Liberal Policies - I'd say most liberals are: Anti-War, Anti-Private Prisons, Pro-Pot, Pro-Gay Marriage, Pro-Environment, Anti-Corruption in Politics. HRC has received private donations totaling 87 million dollars from lobbyists and special interest groups (https://www.opensecrets.org/industries/recips.php?ind=W) more than all the other presidential candidates in this election combined! (Trump, the 2nd most, has 19 million). Let's look at some of her donors: Private Prisons (leaked emails have shown her to be anti-pot and for minimum prison sentencing), Defense Companies (she's stated she wants a no-fly zone over Syria, which many top generals and politicians agree would be a bad idea because it would lead to a war with Russia), and fracking companies, which has been proven to be terrible for the environment (see Flint Michigan). Not very liberal of her it seems. Why would you trust her to put in liberal judges/policies when she seems to be able to be bought by whatever company wants her?

(4) Wanting a candidate because of their genitals or race is stupid. Just a plain fact. I have no problem with a female president, but I don't think HRC is the right person for the job. It'd be sexist to say you voted for Trump because he's male, and racist to say you voted for him because he's white, but spin it the other way and it's "Progressive".

(5) Yes she went to Wellesley and Yale, but going to college doesn't make you qualified for POTUS. She was FLOTUS, but who cares? To be qualified for FLOTUS you have to marry the POTUS. If Trump wins would Ivana be qualified to be POTUS? She was senator of New York, a blue state which she was an implant in. Bill Burr said it best "HRC walked out onto that stage with a brand new Yankees hat they just bought and said 'I've always been a Yankees fan!' I hate that woman." Let's also not ignore her terrible tenure as Secretary of State, where she had her now infamous email scandal (even if it was a mistake it's a terrible mistake that shows she not fit for the job) and her with Benghazi.

One of my favorite videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dY77j6uBHI

So ya, like I said, I'm not a Trump supporter by any means. But I'm not a HRC supporter at all. To say you're voting for her so Trump doesn't win is asinine.

RE:ww3 posts

Saudi Arabia (and by extension the krooked kuntoris) wants Assad gone because he's opposed to a pipeline running from Qatar to Turkey through his country. Hence Russia is pro-Assad since they don't want to share their European oil market with the middle east.

Combine that with the fact that the Saudis have a whole lot of shares in twitter and most mainstream media outlets and their pro-Clinton bias is not all that surprising, but I don't want to go down that rabbithole.

In the end it's all about oil, again. The EV revolution can't come soon enough.

Her tenure as a US senator is extremely important and should not be trivialized as you've done here. If you think she was a plant, fine. That does not change that she won office by a considerable margin despite those same accusations. Why? Because of the legitimacy conferred to her by decades of political experience at multiple levels of government, inside and outside the public sector. And she was appointed to the office of Secretary of State on that same merit. If cronyism brought her this success, then it is a benign cronyism that rewards the skilled.

She has authored policy in the legislative branch of government. She has carried out policy in the executive branch of government. She has studied and practiced law.

Now contrast with Trump, and tell me who's not fit for the job.

Here you've tried to maximize the importance of two entirely irrelevant pieces of information while trivializing her experience as an elected official and as a member of the president's cabinet.

A presidential candidate's alma mater is irrelevant piece of information. Each of the presidential candidates you've referenced has attended an elite college (except for Johnson @ UNM). I challenge you to find anyone who's said that going to college makes you qualified for the role of president—that is a strawman. Hillary's time at Wellesley is only being discussed because she made a name for herself there at her graduation speech.

You're right, who cares that she was FLOTUS? You could make the argument that she is more familiar with the duties of the office by her association with Bill Clinton. But this is trivial compared to the next point:

why can't people vote for who they want to vote for

The whole point of my thread was to argue against some common arguments for her presidency, and anyone is welcome to select a point from this and counter argue.

i don't wish for her to become president. my earlier responses may have detracted from the goal of the OP and for that i apologize.

no you had some good discussion about Russia, in my mind though I don't think you can count out a war with Russia just because of the state of the nation.

I don't think you can a deny a war w/ Russia would be catastrophic, yet their economy is terrible (their government pours money into the private sector so their factories can operate at a loss and dominate the international market), and quality of life their is certainly not the best. Russia has one of the largest active militaries, and the largest arsenal of nuclear weapons.

America and Russia have been in a proxy war since the end of WW2, and if HRC gets in IMO she will give the corporations whatever wars they want. She is dangerous because she sold her soul a very long time ago for power and money, and nothing is below her.

3rd party votes aren't votes for Trump as much as they aren't vote for Hillary. They're vote "for the other guy," which is to say, no one.

For the first time in decades my state is a swing state and it's my first election I truly feel that voting 3rd party is voting for trump in this case

-Why should I vote for Gary Johnson over Hillary Clinton?
-Why should I vote Jill Stein over Hillary Clinton?

Also, to those who are abstaining from voting

-How do you feel good about not voting? I know these choices are terrible but I feel the responsibility to vote

I have my ballot but have yet to check any names. I've watched stuff about both 3rd parties and neither have been engaging enough to sway my vote, I'm abiding by #1 in Mac's OP even if I feel like it is flawed logic
