guess its true, people only remember the bad in things, as its the only thing the media can cover that will get any clicks. sad to think theres people in the world who believe the youth can't be reformed.

but it's still hard for me to hear all of these excuses that are being made for him cause like. if you or someone you love has not been the victim of that kind of physical domestic abuse, you really cannot possibly understand that your abuser donating to charity or making a one-sentence public apology does not make the trauma any easier to deal with.

i'm mostly frustrated with the people who are talking about how great and perfect he was on social media right now and negating the severity of what he did because he was talented. it feels like a slap in the face to people who have been victims of similar sh*t and are having to see this abuser be endlessly praised and sympathized with, rather than regarded in an unbiased way.

fans always look past the reprehensible deeds of the people they look up to because they've been emotionally impacted in such a way that the artist could do absolutely anything and it'll be ignored, yet stick any of those f*cking kids in front of that woman to try to tell her "x is a legend, he's an inspiration, he's a nice guy trying to change!!!" and you know damn well they'd be choking on their own words. are the fans malicious? i don't think so, just painfully ignorant, blinded by emotion and unable to separate art from artist.

the worst part about his death is his reputation is immortalised now. he died before he could be true to his word on all these charitable acts and sentenced for his crimes, so his fans will always have the "but it was never PROVEN" card . in fact now that i think about it it was probably the best damn thing to happen to his career lol

Empathy does not equal making excuses or justifying their crime. It just means being in their shoes and having an idea of why they made and/or still make the choices they do. He had plenty of time to live a fulfilled life. No one deserves death, that way, so young. He could have grown. He did bad things but at gosh as decent human beings let a few days pass by. He had a family who loved him.

I think its just like in most things, the two sides that take extreme positions (im glad hes dead!/he was perfect) are wrong/misguided

i don't really think slow and lacey's feigned elation at his death is going to disrupt his soul's journey somehow .....

Ivana it sounds like you didn't make those extreme mistakes like Xxx did lol

I don't know if you can equate your situation to that or inherently bad ones

True, but I can still empathize. People can handle trauma differently than others. What he did to his girlfriend was uncalled for. As Devante said earlier no one is debating that. But for people who are saying he deserved to die or don't care that he died, outside of the industry he was a human being. One who made mistakes and probably would have made more, hopefully not as extreme. I don't think anyone is in a position to judge. He just died. Let him rest in peace. I heard bad things about him too and believed it but I had to step back and think about all the false bad rumors about me that weren't true when I was that age.

i hear that, and i know he didn't have time to fully make amends for the f*cked up things that he did, and that is sad.

so here's what i'm really curious about; the main thing i've seen people who are singing his praises saying lately is that he was bettering himself, or had somehow made amends with the people he hurt (that he ‘corrected his actions’ as colorblind put it).

i literally scoured the internet trying to find any examples of genuine remorse from him for what he did to that woman and i could find virtually nothing that didn't seem like a half-a*sseed publicity stunt or lazy attempt to alleviate himself of guilt.

i still don't celebrate his death, but the things he did while he was alive make it seem really inappropriate and kind of disgusting for so many people to be calling him an inspiration in light of his actions. if that woman was your sister or mother or friend, would you still be looking past what he did because he was young and talented?

October 20: XXXTentacion announces, via Instagram story, that he will donate “over a 100 thousand dollars” to domestic-violence-prevention programs.

November 26: XXXTentacion announces that he plans to host an “anti-” event at this year’s Art Basel in Miami.

He was planning a suicide prevention charity event just before his death, which was apparently going to be one of many

Some rappers that tweeted about his death mentioned him trying to be better etc - just one example i know of for sure https://twitter.com/JColeNC/status/1008835821313642498

Like you said peach, some of this can be seen as "lazy attempts/half assed publicity stunts" but yea I think stuff like that are what people are mostly pointing to when they speak about him trying to be better/make amends or whatever

At 20 yrs old I was a terrible person and not even attempting to be a better person. Looks like he would've matured early. So sad.

Not caring that he’s dead is one thing - when eris faked his suicide I did not care,

However I did not post in his thread created by projectmatt saying that he literally is a pedophile and Deserves to die

It’s not a hard concept to grasp lmao

unfortunately it's being used by a lot of people to argue with the fact of the abuse altogether, as though the two facts negate each other somehow

I don’t think anyone is arguing that being hit as a kid makes it okay to hit people as a man adolescence.
They are saying studies show that violence begets violence - if you’re exposed to it as a child you’re likely to mimic it .

Of course that is not an excuse however it is a partial reasoning for it ,

I am not a fan of this guy however one of my friends who is s youtube streamer was and I recall between February / April he was doing a challenge set up by X where he had to stream himself giving out food to the homeless for a chance to get a trip to Florida

Someone doesn't deserve to die because they abused someone. Abuse can stem from childhood trauma. Once again, not an excuse (I went through abuse, believe me, I do not excuse it) but he was TWENTY. I'm sure his family is mourning over him. That was someone's son, someone's brother. We as human beings need to be more respectful regardless of what we think of the person that died.

Any kid that dies of being shot at 20 years old I will feel bad for. Also, from what I understand, his girlfriend cheated on him with his friend and that wasn't his baby. Must have saw rage. Not excuses. But at least I have an idea of it. I had no idea about any of this until he died and I researched about him. The story is never that someone is 100% terrible. Still, I'm not going to cry over his death any more than I would cry for a 20 yr old kid on the street.

i think bringing up his childhood should be used more to like give context to his life situation and to kinda give a more whole story/picture

definitely not an excuse
