Hey I just reread our game where you said that the guilty report guaranteed ben was town. I think I might have a counterargument: Let's say ben is mafia and was lawyered n1. Lawyer still wouldn't switch to Guest because if you investigate Guest, regardless of him being lawyered or not, it will say "Stu is sided with the mafia/village". Therefore, lawyer would stay on stalker.
