Presidential Election 2016

over 8 years

Chris deleted his thread and said I could remake it if I spell all the words in the title correctly.

Discuss the presidential election, candidates, stances, and issues here. Also anything else you can think of. I'll be moderating the debate and keeping minors/foreigners from mucking up the discussion. Also if anyone gets too rowdy then I'll put them in temporary timeout.

Debates:

Monday, September 26, 2016

Tuesday, October 4, 2016 (Vice Presidential debate)

Sunday, October 9, 2016

there's nothing at all wrong with voting third party. like nothing even slightly wrong with it. and no reason to convince anyone to do otherwise for any reason, it doesn't give your party any greater chance of winning or just anything at all lol. then two dominant parties will always emerge, but you can put work into it as to who those parties are

what didn't you hear? having anything more than one party is completely absurd you can only have 2 or else your country will sink into the ocean

If we have a smaller government and term limits, who are the millionaires gonna buy?

who do the millionaires buy as things currently are? i'm curious. i mean to what effect that anyone should be really worried about?

If a Republican can show me he'll shut up about social issues, and stop giving out hand outs to corporations, then I'll vote Republican again.

please list some hand outs to some of these corporations

or are you going to pull a bernie and start deriding wall street

where do republicans demand more? if anything they have been trying to get lesser government

Subsidizing industries, giving preference to companies in exchange for money.

Not to mention the GOP defends stuff like the Patriot Act, NSA, anti gay agenda, keeping pot illegal.

Libertarian Party represents my views much more than the GOP. If we have a smaller government and term limits, who are the millionaires gonna buy?

Besides, even if they go back to the two party system, they're still absorbing platforms like I said, which makes the GOP more in line with my views. So why not support someone I agree with?

The Bernie stuff actually was rigged though, and I didn't even like Sanders.

hardly

he lost by millions of votes in every measure

nothing was rigged. if people are gonna talk about the DNC leaks, some internal people poked fun at Bernie and wanted him to drop out already around the california primary, which is understandable.

if I were a political party, I would want a crusty old socialist out ASAP for trying to take advantage of my coalition and voter base

Ultimately it's the people who elect the president, not the media. Although at this point I'm genuinely anxious that Hillary's cronies may rig the election. I have zero trust in the security of electronic voting booths, and the voter fraud in Colorado due to deceased voters is a worrying trend.

this is the type of posting that gets tiring

>your candidate loses

must be rigged

>your candidate wins

not rigged

this is the same idiotic thinking that happened for idiot bernie supporters

what are some examples of a reversion to a 2 party system, in history

then explain it rather than linking to a random video

the video explains it succinctly.

rule by minority isn't fun and if anything, it creates more dissatisfaction with the leader

also, again, it leads back to a two party-system every time inevitably

we will see this happen with the UK eventually where less popular parties will disintegrate and start joining other parties

what are some examples of a reversion to a 2 party system, in history

every political system ever. it's called duverger's law. his other point about minorities is r*tarded tho

Reminder that this is going to be rigged.

Because she did win those debates.

Dumb Berners refused to accept that HRC seemed more versatile and prepared in the debates. I even made a thread about it in one of the earliest debates where I outlined why Hillary did better.

Don't try to use online surveys as a form of evidence.

whats wrong with wanting more diversity among both parties and constituents? it allows for plenty more opportunity to find a president we actually want. most other developed democratic countries have a lot more than 2 parties.

I think I've explained this to you many times but I'm not sure if it's because you don't understand or you refuse to comprehend it

Creating multiple parties creates way for rule by minority

Personally I'm a democrat and planning to vote that way come this November, but I can recognize that if 3rd parties start taking senate seats or states in the presidential election, democrats and republicans may rapidly change their platforms to better suit the American people

let's be honest - it does.

why are people like you so obsessed with third parties

third parties will always disintegrate and revert back to two parties

i've found that it's generally people care about politics every 4 years that b*tch and moan about "m-m-muh third party"
